Minerva Masonic Hall
The Minerva is a hidden gem in Hull's old town. The venue has heaps of character and the downstairs meeting room makes for a fabulous reception space. The room's neutral colour scheme gives us the perfect blank canvas to set your theme against.
We're pleased to act as Minerva's go-to dressers for brides and grooms who want to add an extra something special to the venue.

We went through a good few shades of gold, copper and bronze with our bride when planning this wedding before settling on champagne. Lighter and more subtle than a lot of shades, it gave Minerva's function room a warm, stylish finish.

Our vintage pink taffeta sashes gave a soft, feminine feel to Minerva's reception suite. We love this colour and so do our brides. It's one of our most popular colours for 2017.
We do love a bit of geekery here at Sophisticated Shindigs too - so these Game of Thrones table cards were a real treat!

Our dusky pink ruffle hoods were so striking at this wedding. We think the place looked the picture of elegance!

This wedding was a new one for us. This was our first time providing coloured chair covers. Bride and groom couldn't decide whether to go for blue covers or white so the solution was half and half. We think the silver, white and blue went great together and now we're itching to get our hands on a Frozen birthday party!
Tilly & James, 10th September 2016
Our bride and groom chose a different layout for their wedding and that came with different table linens. We ditched our usual ivory chair covers and instead broke out our white ones to match with the new table cloths. The white was a great choice to help show off our pale pink satin sashes.

This was a new colour scheme to us but we think it looked lovely. We used navy satin and lilac taffeta for this couple's wedding, and they were very happy with it!

We were tasked with providing linens for a two colour scheme and we think our royal purple and sleek silver looked great together. Our table skirt gave an elegant finish to the top table.

Our royal purple satin sashes are so sumptuous and stylish. They always go down well.

Our burnt orange sashes were just the ticket for this pumpkin-filled Halloween wedding.

When arranging this wedding we were given the briefing 'winter berry'. We sent through some ideas to our client and they fell straight away for our hot pink and purple combination.

Our red satin sashes added such a pop of colour to this wedding. The ruby tones work really nicely in this room.
Jodie & Rob, 22nd August 2015
Our bride initially plumped for a soft mint green to go with her wildflower centrepieces but soon took a liking to our hessian and lace. We think they lent a lovely rustic feel to the room and complimented the afternoon tea atmosphere the couple wanted to create.
This was our first time working at The Minerva Lodge and we quickly fell in love with the place. We were also pleased to make such a good first impression that we were immediately offered the position of in-house dressers.
