Holiday Inn, Hull Marina
Hull's marina is a great setting for a wedding. Couples who marry at Holiday Inn can enjoy unique views as they dine in the restaurant, as well as photographs set to sails and sparkling water. This is one of Hull's most popular venues and we enjoy dressing it for dozens of happy couples every season.
Sophisticated Shindigs are very proud to say that we are Holiday Inn Hull Marina's recommended venue dressers.
If you have a higher-tier package with the Holiday Inn which includes chair sashes, please drop us a message with your date and your colour scheme and we'll get you sorted with a colour to suit!

Black and gold chair dressing for a special birthday party.
Thomas & Hannah, 25th of June 2022
Hannah chose a blush pink colour scheme for hers and Thomas' big day and we transformed the Myton suite for them with chair dressing, aisle dressing, starlight, and pretty pink florals.
Clare & Pete's vow renewal, 29th of December 2021
This couple were married at Christmas and came back to Holiday Inn to celebrate their vow renewal a few years later. The bride married in a red dress, so we matched our colours to her wedding dress and the deep green colour worn by the bridesmaids
Grant & Hayley, 20th of November 2021
Grant & Hayley chose lemon and navy for their big day. We dressed the Myton suite up for them with chair covers and two-tone bows, plus floral arrangement and white tree centrepieces.
Terry & Amanda, 12th of November 2021
Terry & Amanda had a cosy, intimate wedding with their nearest and dearest. We dressed the room for them with shades of rose gold, navy and pink.
Bekky & Chris, 30th of October 2021
Bekky & Chris chose rich burgundy and lots of lush greenery for their big day. As the family has Scottish roots they wanted something with a little nod to nature and The Highlands. Our leafy green arch and foliage wall were just the ticket for that - and the perfect complement to the bride's rustic foliage and thistle bouquet. Chunky tree slices and garlands of greenery on the tables tied everything together. Our burgundy chair dressing picked up on the colour of the bridesmaids' dresses, and with the guests all encouraged to wear red and burgundy everything matched a treat.
Paul & Bernie, 12th of October 2021
The classic white wedding look was just not going to cut it for this pair of metalheads! We swapped out all of the usual white chair and table linens for black for Paul and Bernie's big day. We even set the scene for them with a sleek black backdrop. Rich red ruffles and rose-strewn candelabra gave them the gorgeous gothic day of their dreams.
We love working on alternative themes and it really makes us happy to see our couples choose something that really suits them. Remember that your wedding day is about you and your other half. Plan and theme your day so that you feel comfortable and your room really reflects you.

Ray & Pam, 14th of August 2021
Working with a colour palette rather than a single shade, we dressed this couple's wedding with a pleasing combination of lilac and plum.
Rachel & Martin, 23rd of July 2021

Joanne & Mark, 3rd of July 2021
Lyndon & Ivy, 4th of June 2021
This week we had the pleasure of dressing a wedding at Holiday Inn for one of their own members of staff.
Lyndon's cheerful face can usually be seen behind the bar on wedding days as he keeps the drinks flowing for celebrating guests. Recently though he was on the other side of things as (after a very speedy bit of post-lockdown wedding planning) he tied the knot with his lovely wife Ivy.
The happy couple chose sage and peach for their décor as they celebrated with friends and colleagues on a bright and sunny day on the marina. The team at Holiday Inn always take such good care of us whenever we visit, so it was a real treat to be able to contribute to giving these two their special day.

Charlotte & Mathew, 29th of May 2021
Their choice of our peach-blush sashes and blush flower wall worked together beautifully. They were also our first lady and gent to make use of our brand new, hand-painted 'Happily Ever After' backdrop sign.
Our bride's feedback:
"Just want to say a massive thank you to Sophie, she did a fantastic job and the room looked wonderful - everyone commented on it. She took a big chunk of stress away from the very beginning with her expertise and professionalism. Thank you so much!"

Laura & Mark, 9th of October 2020
Mark and Laura tied the knot in an intimate ceremony with 15 of their nearest and dearest. We dressed their Myton suite wedding for them keeping everything covid safe with masks and regular sanitising. We also dressed a second breakout area for them in the marina-view restaurant so
[A short break for the covid pandemic.]

Gareth & Becky, 18th of January 2020
Jessica & Dan, 11th of January 2020
Alison & Marc, 28th of December 2019
We set the scene for Alison and Marc's winter wedding with crisp white linens, soft powder blue sashes, and delicate white trees with blossom and crystals.
Angela & Matthew, 26th of October 2019
We fitted an extra long starlight wall to fully cover the windows in the Myton suite for Angela and Matthew's wedding reception. This custom-sized backdrop was number one on the bride's list of must-haves to take the wedding party away from the world for the day and cast romantic mood lighting over the room. Our contrasting soft pink and grey sashes gave the bride and groom the best of both worlds when it came to their colour scheme - contrasting colours are a great way to break things up and give balance to a room!
Malcolm & Helen, 31st of August 2019
Huge congratulations to Malc and Helen! Helping these two lovebirds have an absolutely brilliant day was a real joy for us. Malc was an absolute sweetheart to work with, and so set on giving Helen the perfect day.
Helen knew she wanted purple for her dressing but fancied something slightly different so in came our beautiful patterned lace. We also complemented the chair dressing by customising our big LOVE letters to give off a subtle lilac light.
Our blossom trees - which had been a must for Malc all along - stole the show and absolutely delighted the bride when she walked into the room.

Susan & Karl, 27th of July 2019
Powder blue and starlight gave Susan and Karl a tranquil setting for their big day. After setting them up with a ceremony all ready for them to say their vows we got to work on setting up the marina-view restaurant for their first meal together as husband and wife.
Claire & John, 26th of July 2019
Claire and John chose sleek navy satin for their chair dressing and lit the Myton suite with LOVE and starlight. Our fish bowl centrepieces kept things simple but stylish, and navy runners added a splash of colour to the tables. We added gold heart chocolates to the guests' places for a contrasting finishing touch.
Claire & Robbie, 8th of June 2019
Our Tiffany blue sashes were sourced especially for our bride, Claire. Together with our starlight set, it created a crisp and classy setting for the couple's wedding breakfast.
Louise & Ian, 4th of May 2019
Becky & Will, 20th of April 2019
Organised by mother of the bride Sue, this pretty pink wedding for Becky and Will was one of our favourites yet! We loved filling the Myton suite with petals and beautiful ruffles. The marina-view restaurant reception looked fairly stunning too!
Wedding fair, 14th of April 2019
We used a mixture of pinks and floral prints for Holiday Inn's spring wedding fair - and took our beautiful blossom trees out on their first ever outing!
Natalie & Matty, 13th of April 2019
Natalie and Matty chose two very bold colours for their wedding. We'd never used our bright red and navy taffeta in tandem before but we think they looked marvellous - and they were certainly very fitting for their Beauty and the Beast theme!
Devon & Luke, 5th of April 2019
Devon and Luke's wedding initially started with a very different colour scheme. The plan at first was to go for a full autumnal look with shades of bright and burnt orange to mimic the falling leaves of the bride's favourite season. With the wedding fast approaching though, ideas changed and instead we went for a more gentle, coppery mocha shade which lent a much more subtle feel to things while still lending itself to rustic, natural touches. This was our first time dressing a full wedding in this beautiful shade and we absolutely loved it. We dealt solely with the bride and her mother right the way through the planning of this wonderful wedding and both were a pleasure to work with.
Chantelle & Andrew, 15/03/19
Chantelle and Andrew did something for their wedding that we absolutely love to see - they did their day their way! This Star Wars-themed wedding was an absolute treat for us. The couple's handmade touches really put their stamp on their day. We just wish we'd been around to see Vader and his stormtroopers!
The original plan had been for us to use rose petals alongside our black chair and table dressing - but when we rocked up and saw the theme we quickly swapped out for diamond scatters to make our black runners look like the opening credits' star-strewn sky.

Open evening, 13th of February 2019
We alternated our enduringly popular rose gold sashes with a sharp floral print to mix things up for Holiday Inn's spring open evening. Mixed pink and green petals picked up on the colours of the flowers and foliage in our floral print sashes and finished the aisle off nicely in the Humber suite.
Nikki & Ian, 26th of January 2019
This soft combination of baby blue and baby pink made for a very happy bride. We offset the venue's own red aisle runner and tied things together by dressing it with matching pale pink petals.
Tina & Shane, 6th of October 2018
We had a great time with this lovely lilac theme. Sophisticated Shindigs provided full venue dressing for the happy couple with a complete turnaround between ceremony and reception. This was the first outing for our brand new linen sashes and we think they look absolutely fab. We provided floral arrangements for the hotel's own centrepieces as well as matching flowers for the signing table and top table. Our silk table skirting set of the top table and cake table, as did our starlight arch which we moved from the aisle to showcase the couple's cake. The couple's table plan was proudly displayed with our striking framed mirror and easel, and we finished the tables with matching place cards and colour-coordinated heart chocolates.
Mike & Paula, 17th of August 2018
The bride and groom had a bit of trouble deciding on their colour scheme at first but soon plumped for this beautiful burgundy - and we're so glad they did! This wedding looked absolutely fab and our chair sashes were the perfect match for the bridesmaids' dresses and the groomsmen's cravats.
Fleur & Andrew, 4th of August 2018
This was a last-minute booking for us when the bride realised she was going to be without chair sashes. We considered a few different options including a range of soft pinks before the bride plumped for this stripped-back look. We enjoyed working on this real white wedding and think our our white taffeta sashes kept things simple and allowed the table settings to shine.
We provided a sash-only service here, and finished the couples' tables with ivory heart chocolates.

Kerry & Jamie, 7th of July 2018
This bright and colourful wedding was a real treat for us. The bride and groom picked their colours from the wrapper of their favourite chocolate bar and we loved it! With a big family and lots of children coming to the wedding, this jazzy theme with bold colours and lots of balloons was just the way to go.
Vicki & Stephen, 9th of June 2018
This two-tone dressing was done to suit both the maids' and the groomsmens' outfits. It was nice to try out something new, and we think the two colours looked great together!
Samantha & Daniel, 13th of January 2018
A pop of purple made Samantha & Daniel's wedding bold and beautiful.
Sarah & Ian, 5th of January 2018
We absolutely loved working on this champagne wedding for our Sarah & Ian. We think it's a great colour scheme anyway, but it seems to work particularly well in the Holiday Inn's wood-panelled Humber Suite. Our LOVE letters left no doubt as to the theme of the day, and our starlight set added an extra special twinkle to their special day.
[Thank you to Dean at Dino's Gallery for the beautiful photos! If you're looking for a photographer for your own wedding, you can find him at www.facebook.com/dinosgallery.]
Diane & Kevin, 30th of July 2017
Fabulous florals were the order of the day for this vintage-style wedding. We met our bride at the Holiday Inn's wedding fayre where we had dressed both wedding suites and when she clocked our sashes it was love at first sight!
The feedback we had for this wedding was fab. We had staff coming from all over the hotel just to look at our work and there was a serious discussion as to whether this might be their prettiest wedding yet!

Joe & Paula, 17th of June 2017
Dusky pink and grey is one of our most-requested colour combinations for chair dressing.
Donna & Justin, 25th of June 2016
We stamped our clients' colour scheme on this wedding with navy blue organza. We highlighted the aisle with starlight at both start and finish.
Leanne & Paul, 18th of September 2015
The bride and groom opted for a delicate colour choice of mint green to fit their rustic wedding. A touch of starlight helped set the scene for a very happy wedding.
10th of July 2015
Our chair covers transformed the ceremony room and made it instantly fit for a wedding, and we think that our navy organza looks great in this classic room.
Amy & Anthony, 5th of July 2015
With starlight and sleek satin sashes, this wedding looked classy and clean. We love this royal blue - such a rich, sumptuous shade!
Leanne & James, 20th of June 2015
Wanting something different to the usual bow, Leanne and James opted for our diamante buckle chair bands. These bands give a bold splash of colour with clean lines - and a lovely hint of sparkle.
The couple also hired our 5ft candy ferris wheel which I'm told went down an absolute treat with children and adults alike.

Paul & Simone, 29th of November 2014
We dressed the room with sashes, runners, and centrepieces for this royal blue wedding. We also provided rose trees and table plan.
